Hard to swallow Braveheart

1 May 2008 · Leave a Comment

We’re getting a lot of searches for “finger my self” that are generating hits on the site.  What the heck is that about?

For those of you who aren’t blogging on WordPress there is a blog stats section to the admin tools.  We topped 40 views in one day on the 29th which is cool, but it also tells us how people are finding the site.  Yesterday, finger my self seemed to be a big draw.  Dunno.

Along the same lines, Back has the top three viewed posts.  I guess that makes her the talent and me the facilitator.  No surprise there.  I’m not even entertained by my posts.

The other day in a lacrosse game my friend was checked across the throat by the opposing team.  This generated one of the best situations for sexual innuendos in the history of the world.

My friend, we’ll call him Braveheart, has time to yell at the ref because it was a dead ball. He complains that he was slashed in the throat but the ref does not respond because he’s a ref, thats what they do.

Braveheart is at this point standing nearly dead center of the field with 50-60 people in ear shot and in an echoing voice yells “I’m not going to be able to swallow tonight.”  The opposing bench starts to laugh, possibly snicker, and our sidelines gives him crap about it for at least a quarter.

The only thing I regret about the whole event was that no one called out a Michael Scott “That’s what she said” or anything similar.  If the ref had said it I’d have died laughing.  I was consoled though by the fact that the rest of the night and most of the next day we managed to question Braveheart’s manhood for any number of swallowing related activities.

We watched Lars and the Real Girl last night and Back is antsy to let you know how much she loved it.  I’ll just say, it was a good movie with almost no flaws in it.  Top to bottom their was skill displayed in every aspect of film making.  I’ll let her gush about it later.

Oh and remind me to tell you how I was once taken by security and thrown out of Wrigley Field.

The Core of Life is New Socks

So I disagree with Back.  The women in the Graduate were not that attractive.  I know tan lines go in and out but my lord Ann Bancroft looked like leather with the tan lines only making it worse.

We watched Into the Wild tonight, per Back’s wish.  The soundtrack is pretty good.  Pearl Jam’s guy I think.  I could look it up but I’m not going to make it.  I am not sure about the whole show though.  One thing I liked was that it took its time to develop the story line.  Yes it was 2.5 hours nearly but I didn’t feel like I did at Smart People.  In that movie the relationships weren’t fully developed.  In this one the people he met were fleshed out and the actions they took were real seeming.

Back has Juno going in the background as I type this so I should probably stop detracting from Ellen Page’s latest.

As for the rest of Into the Wild… I doubt very much I can say much about it that hasn’t already been said.  I instantly recognized Slab City from a Shooter Jennings video from three years ago.  The real question is did Shooter Jennings make any more videos?  Probably, but I wasn’t watching.

Back will have more to say on the subject of Into the Wild I’m sure.

First high school lacrosse game is tomorrow.  Our real first one was rained out last week.  My Civic is jam packed full of the equipment it takes to play a home game.  Two goals, one game clock, one extra goalie stick, two extra defense stick, four cans of paint, five mouth pieces, twenty-five jerseys, one fold down table, one fold down chair, fifteen ice packs, and some other stuff.  How do I get myself into this stuff?

The Bellows…

29 March 2008 · Leave a Comment

Back won’t see Prom Night, trust me. How about a round of applause for the picture at the top here? We took that at a beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Back then edited it into a nice banner.

LACROSSE SEASON IS BACK, or at least the season that I play and coach. We had our first games today, two to be exact. I scored in the second game but we lost both by one. Too bad because I’m going to pay for it tomorrow. Let this be a lesson for you: Be in shape! I had the wind knocked out of me in one of the two games -perfectly legal hit- but right in the rib cage and WOW, I lost every breath I’d ever taken, rolled over and the game stopped. Everyone wanted to say something to me has a trotted off the field but all I could do was rasp, I’ll be fine.

I’m listening to the audiobook Getting Things Done, and it is vastly interesting. So let Back make fun of the white board. I like it. It helps me get things done.

I don’t have much else to say, Icy Hoting my way to sleep. Goodnight.
